Mr. Porter has represented clients in a
broad range of litigation matters in which businesses become involved,
including those involving contracts, real estate and construction,
trade practices, intellectual property, insurance, corporate
governance, fiduciaries and probate issues. His representation
has been in state and federal courts, both trial and appellate, private
arbitration and mediation, and in administrative and industry
forums. His clients include both private and public sector
organizations. Mr. Porter has also represented clients in business
transactions, including shopping centers and other commercial real
estate ventures in acquisition and sale transactions, leasing and
refinancing and technology and manufacturing companies on licensing,
trade practices and insurance. He has served as an arbitrator with the
American Arbitration Association for 20 years. Mr. Porter has been
active in public service, serving on the El Cerrito City Council,
Planning Commission and Parks and Recreation Commission and as a
director of The San Francisco Independent Living Resource Center, the
Contra Costa Civic Theatre (Past President) and the Eskaton-Hazel
Shirley Manor.
